Kevin Harvick is the understandable favorite at 4/1 odds with two career wins on the track and eight top-10 finishes in his last 10 races there. Kyle Busch and Joey Logano both have 6/1 odds, while. 2019 Rinnai 250 Odds & Predictions – Favorites & Sleepers at Atlanta Motor Speedway: The NASCAR XFINTIY Series continues this weekend with a trip to Atlanta Motor Speedway. Saturday’s Rinnai 250 will be the first race of the year at a mile-and-a-half track, and while the race will be a companion event with the Cup Series, there is an absence of Cup stars pulling double duty.

Last year, Kevin Harvick and Joey Logano dominated this event, but the closest thing to a ringer in Saturday’s field is Ryan Preece. Preece has certainly flashed his potential, but he is beginning his rookie year in the Cup Series and only ran a part-time XFINITY schedule the last couple of seasons.

Yes, there are still a couple of XFINITY regulars who deserve to be considered the favorites, but the lack of Cup stars opens things up for several other drivers that would normally be stuck competing for a top-10 instead of a win.

Let’s take a look at my top betting options and some of my favorites sleepers for Saturday’s Rinnai 250 at Atlanta.

2019 Rinnai 250 Odds & Predictions

The Favorites

He won a series-best seven races and led more laps than any other driver as a rookie a year ago, and Christopher Bell (2/1) is back for more in 2019. His six top-five finishes at 1.5-mile tracks last year were the second most in the series, and Bell led laps in seven of the 10 races, picking up a win at Kentucky. He led 12 laps and finished third in his Atlanta debut a year ago, and the two drivers who finished ahead of him were established Cup stars Kevin Harvick and Joey Logano. Neither of those drivers will be in the field Saturday.

For the second year in a row, Cole Custer (9/2) was the most productive driver at the 1.5-mile tracks in 2018. In the 10 races, his 369 driver points scored, seven top-five finishes and eight top-10s were all tops in the series. Custer finished the year with five finishes of third or better in the final seven races at mile-and-a-half ovals, winning at Texas and leading the most laps finishing second at Homestead. He’s the safest bet to have a shot at the win Saturday.

The Contenders

He tends to take a checkers-or-wreckers attitude towards the 1.5-mile tracks, and while Justin Allgaier (5/1) finished outside the top 30 in three of the 10 races last year, he finished seventh or better in the other seven. He also led double-digit laps in both races at Las Vegas, the fall race at Texas and the race at Kentucky. After winning five races in 2018, expect Allgaier to remain a weekly threat, starting this weekend at Atlanta.

JR Motorsports is one of the top organizations in the XFINITY Series, and this year, the team’s No. 8 car will be shared by a variety of drivers. Ryan Preece (7/1) will get a turn behind the wheel at Atlanta Saturday, and he has already shown what he can do when given great equipment. He picked up 14 top-10s in 19 starts for Joe Gibbs Racing over the past two years, winning twice and finishing sixth or better in three of his five starts at 1.5-mile ovals in 2018. Look for him to be running in the top five with a shot at the win this weekend.

He made his XFINITY Series debut at Atlanta last year, and John Hunter Nemechek (12/1) ended his afternoon with a fourth-place finish. He went on to make five starts at 1.5-mile ovals in 2018, posting a 3.8 average finish and four top-five efforts. Nemechek also led laps in four of those five races, picking up a win at Kansas.

Defending series champion Tyler Reddick (7/1) came on strong down the stretch in 2018, capturing the title and emerging as one of the best drivers at the 1.5-mile tracks. He closed the year with top-five finishes in the final three races at mile-and-a-half ovals, leading 54 laps and finishing second at Texas and leading 44 laps in a win at Homestead to cap things off. Don’t be surprised if that momentum carries over into 2019.

2019 Rinnai 250 Odds & Predictions

Sleeper Special

Experience isn’t on his side, but Noah Gragson (12/1) is one of the top prospects in NASCAR, and he landed a ride in elite equipment, piloting the JR Motorsports No. 9. He actually made his first three XFINITY starts last year for Joe Gibbs Racing, finishing second in his series debut and seventh or better in all three starts. The talent is obvious, and being with a top-tier team should prove to be an even bigger edge at a 1.5-mile oval like Atlanta. Gragson is going to break into victory lane sooner rather than later, and it wouldn’t be a shock if it happened Saturday at Atlanta.
